Whatsapp updated its Terms of Service and Privacy Policies on 5th December, 2020 and the pop-up terms and conditions reads; “Whatsapp is updating its terms and privacy policy
Key Updates include more information about:
*Whatsapp’s service and how we process your data
*How businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their whatsapp chats
*How we partner with Facebook to offer integration across the Facebook Company products.
By tapping AGREE, you accept the new terms and privacy policy, which takes effect from February 8, 2021. After this date, you’ll need to accept these update to continue using Whatsapp. You can also visit the help center if you would prefer to delete your account and would like more information”.
The new policy says how user data is impacted when there is interaction with a business on the platform, and provides more details on integration with Facebook, WhatsApp’s parent company.
However, users aren’t finding it easy with Whatsapp as their official handle has welcomed tons of tweets in the last couple of days while, prospective competitors such as Telegram and Signal have received more customers.
Many are of the opinion that there’s a privacy right infringement and accuse the popular messaging app of several system upgrades.
